“What did I learn in my recent neighbourhood engagement ?”

Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much”- Helen Keller

This quote highlights that collective efforts and collaboration within a community have the potential to achieve far greater things than individual efforts alone.

There is a Chapter in our new book, ‘ALIVE,’ detailed strategies I use to learn all names of my neighbor in Calgary. I am joking; my two kids tell me, “ Dad, you always forget your keys.” If you don’t use it, you lose it. Less I forget, there is a chapter on the power of humor as a secret weapon. You are getting 2o books for the price of one!

“Unity is strength…. when there is teamwork and collaboration, wondering things can be achieved”- Mattie Stepanek.

In my conversation with my neighbor, let’s call him Dave( not his real name). David is a white male in his late 40’s(Don’t ask how I manage to know age. That’s the power of mindfulness. Maybe we can Sherlock Holmes?)

Sorry about my digression (my colleagues call this divergent thinking. I find this fascinating). “ Trying to see through muddled waters us like to discern truth in a clouded mind.”

Dave shared his successes and frustrations in growing and weeding his garden. See the picture- what am I missing? He uses a manual method to fertilize his garden (added benefits of zone 2 exercise). I pondered for a few seconds the ‘risk and reward’ of fertilizing his garden (recalled stoic wisdom). So, I reframed from giving him unsolicited advice. My clients pay me good money for my wellness & Business Consulting!

“To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow”- Audrey Hepburn

I told Dave about my new book ‘ALIVE’ and my challenges and frustrations as a writer(?author), writing the book despite my busy family and consulting commitments. However, despite the barriers, challenges, and support of Family, friends, and other trusted writers, the book has come to a reality. Not really; coming out soon, in the next few days! He promised to pre-order a copy of AMAZON or our website @ www.niranojomomdservices.com today!

We are a community, right(the icing on the cake is there is a chapter in our new book ‘ALIVE,’ on the power of community!)

‘Believe you can, and you’re halfway there”- Theodore Roosevelt
